Great Glen canoe expedition A fabulous journey by Canadian canoe or kayak right across Scotland from Fort William on the West Coast to Inverness, capital of the Highlands, on the East coast.

We will paddle on flat water for 60 miles using stretches of the Caledonian Canal and traversing legendary lochs such as Loch Ness and the bizarrely named Loch Lochy! We will be entirely self-contained for this camping expedition and will travel with all the food and equipment that we will need for the 5 days. Mini descent of the River Spey (canoe only)

River Spey Descent by canoeA 3-day journey down the majestic River Spey from Aviemore to the sea at Spey Bay. 

One of the 'Big 4' rivers that is a must for the touring canoeist in Scotland, and which normally provides a fast current, great scenery and some interesting rapids. To paddle from Newtonmore to Spey Bay can take up to 5 days depending on the fitness, age, size of the group, weather and the water levels. Other popular start points for a shorter journey might be Kincraig or Aviemore.
